The easyInternetcafé Oxford Street lease is off the market
as the company has decided to re-develop the large amount of prime real estate
in its possession.
easy.com centres
will now be installed in the easyInternetcafé corporate stores across Europe.
In the past two years easyInternetcafé has grown from about 20 outlets
to more than 70 today. The first 20 corporate stores were very large whereas the
following 50 tend to be smaller and in premises shared with other retailers such
as McDonald's, Sainsbury's or the Post Office.
easy.com centres will showcase the full range of easyGroup companies.
They will provide information on easyGroup companies, facilitate the booking of
easyJet flights, easyCars, easyHotels and easyCruises as well as being places
to purchase easy4men toiletries and easyMobile sim-cards. They will also re-introduce
uniformed easyInternetcafé staff into the corporate stores who will manage
the premises as well as manning the easy.com centres.
"I decided to focus on the bigger picture and create more
wealth for the easyGroup as whole by selling other easy-branded goods and services
to the 12 million people a year who visit easyInternetcafé," said
Stelios the serial entrepreneur and easyGroup chairman. "I got the idea from
observing how the Virgin megastores were selling mobile phones and noted how much
more wealth that created for Richard Branson," he concluded.
